Most travel companies research a country. We live in one. That difference shows in every detail – from the stops we choose, to the people we work with, and the way we plan.

Every trip pairs the landmark you’d feel short-changed without – Machu Picchu, Cartagena’s walled city with the stop that only exists because somebody kept going back for years. In Costa Rica, it’s Arenal’s volcano paired with Proyecto Asis, a wildlife rescue centre most tours never mention. Neither one gets cut to make room for the other. We give you both, properly, in nine days, give or take.

Max 14 people, mostly solo professionals. That’s not an accident, it’s the format. Most Offbeaters have a few weeks a year to spend on annual leave, not six months to disappear, so the itinerary earns every one of them rather than wasting a single day. Put the right group together for nine days and friendships aren’t a lucky side effect, they’re what the small group size is actually for. You’ll know everyone by day three.

We’re based in Panama City, not London, and we run trips across Latin America only, not a global catalogue that happens to include it. Panama borders Colombia, and was part of the same country until 1903, close enough that a weekend trip barely counts as travel here. Every stop is somewhere we’ve been back to more than once, not something pulled off a supplier’s spreadsheet by someone who’s never set foot there.

Sabina, our founder, spent close to twenty years in law enforcement and corporate security, including time in Colombia, Kenya and Afghanistan. Alex, our Operations Director, brings military planning expertise. That shows up differently on every trip. Peru’s altitude days are built into the itinerary properly, not squeezed in as an after thought. Costa Rica’s rafting runs with guides who know that stretch of river specifically. Every trip is planned properly before it’s ever sold to you, you will not be used as a lesson to improve for the next group.
