SAFETY & SECURITY

SAFETY & SECURITY HUB

YOUR SAFETY & SECURITY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

This page covers how we plan for safety across every trip, along with the practical steps you should take before travelling: government advice, health requirements and insurance.

LED BY EXPERIENCE

Every itinerary is planned and reviewed before it is offered to travellers. Sabina, our founder, has close to twenty years of experience in law enforcement and corporate security, including operational experience across hostile environments, such as Afghanistan. Alex, our Operations Director, has a military background in planning and risk assessment. Both are directly involved in reviewing routes, accommodation, and activity providers before any trip is published.

In practice, this means:

    • Routes and activity providers are vetted in person, not selected from a supplier catalogue
    • Contingency plans are in place for each stage of the itinerary, including alternative routes and accommodation where relevant
    • Government travel advisories are monitored for every country we operate in, on a rolling basis, not only at the point of booking
    • Any change in advisory status is reviewed, and, where necessary, acted on before it affects a scheduled trip

GOVERNMENT TRAVEL ADVICE

We strongly recommend reading your government’s official travel advice for any country you’re visiting or transiting through, before you go:

UK Citizens – The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s (FCDO)

US Citizens – U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs

Canadian Citizens – Canadian Consular Affairs Bureau

Australian Citizens – Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

New Zealand Citizens – New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

TRAVEL HEALTH

Check required and recommended vaccinations at least six weeks before departure. Travel Health Pro has current country-specific guidance for UK travellers, if you’re travelling from elsewhere, follow your own government’s advice.

You must ensure that you are aware of all mandatory and recommended vaccinations and health precautions in good time before departure.

MANDATORY TRAVEL INSURANCE

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for every trip, and proof of cover must be provided before departure.

At minimum, make sure yours covers:

The specific countries you’re visiting
Medical treatment and personal injury
Repatriation and evacuation expenses, including helicopter rescue and air ambulance
Trip cancellation and personal property

If any part of your trip involves altitude, check your policy has no upper altitude exclusion.

It’s your responsibility to make sure your policy is fit for purpose, covering not just the trip itself but your personal circumstances, including any pre-existing conditions. No policy covers everything, so read the terms before you travel, not after.
